New material has been added to the Institute’s instructional resources and Library collection in the following categories:

TOEFL Instructional Resources
2008-2009 TOEFL Bulletin—If you have not already received a copy, please see Dr. Prager. Please retain your copy so that you can advise students.
Longman Preparation for TOEFL iBT: Classroom Activities—Classroom Activities provides two activities for each of the 48 language skills in the complete student book.
Longman Preparation for TOEFL iBT: Lesson Plans—Lesson Plans provides interactive lesson plans for each of the 48 language skills in the complete student book.

NorthStar Writing Activity Books and NorthStar Writing Update
Writing will receive even greater emphasis in NorthStar, 3rd edition when it appears. For now, teachers should:

The Bookstore has two Writing Activity Books for Reading and Writing Intermediate (ESL 4) for the 1st and 2nd NorthStar editions. Reviewing these books can provide helpful ideas for better integrating writing at all ESL levels.

The Langston Hughes Reader by the great African-American writer. The Reader contains many of Hughes short stories, poems, plays, autobiographical writings, articles, etc. (call no. 818 Hughes).
