Responsibilities:
Counselor to provide our students with counseling in their educational and vocational choices including:
· Designing, organizing, and executing training programs catered towards English as a Second Language (ESL) students that will teach them how to develop interview skills and perform job responsibilities such as interact with customers in English, follow instructions from bosses, provide instructions to subordinates, create value, and work with colleagues through team exercises, group discussions, and lectures;
· Conducting interviews and surveys with students to ascertain their abilities, interests, personalities, and aspirations, and determine whether their career and personal growth goals are being fulfilled;
· Meeting with and holding office hours for students to counsel them and provide guidance on educational and career choices taking into consideration their abilities, interests, and personalities;
· Providing counseling for students facing personal and professional challenges and serve as a “safe harbor” individual that students can feel comfortable speaking with;
· Encouraging students to explore further opportunities and challenge themselves based upon their abilities and interests;
· Providing students with information on college programs, financial aid, trade schools, and internships; and
· Staying abreast of developments in the career-building industry by attending educational conferences and training workshops and keeping up with industry literature in order to determine what can be implemented in the Institute Foundation.
Requirements:
· Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a closely related field.
· Excellent communication skills
· Have good evaluation skills
· Knowledge of organizational psychology and organizational function to provide guidance to students.
