Duties/Responsibilities:
Teach or instruct out-of-school youths and adults beyond the age of compulsory schooling.
The classes are on basic High School Equivalency Diploma Preparation, ESL, English Literacy,
TOEFL, etc.; prepare course outlines including lessons, assignments, workshops &
demonstrations to teach principles, techniques and methods related to English courses and
skills based on the materials prepared; prepare and administer tests and grade/evaluate students’
work, tests and progress and make suggestions for improvement; and provide academic and
personal advice on career or special academic problems or interests to students.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in TESL, English, Linguistics, or Literature related. Must hold valid NYS teacher registration.
