Policy on F-1 Student Employee Immigration Compliance
Students in F-1 status are eligible to work at the Institute in accordance with U.S. Immigration Regulations related to “on campus employment.”
The Institute’s compliance with these regulations is the responsibility of the President/PDSO, who ensures that any F-1 student employees must:
1) Maintain F-1 status, including enrollment in a full course of study at the Institute.
2) Work no more than 20 hours per week while the student is taking classes or full-time during a student’s annual vacation period.
3) Follow local, state, and federal employment requirements. This includes the Institute assisting the student with documentation required for application for a social security number.
The President/PDSO advises students that a failure to comply with the above regulations, whether the Institute’s or student’s responsibility, will result in failure to maintain F-1 student status and termination of the student’s SEVIS record.
